How to grow strawberries at home.

The best strawberries you can try    are those grown at home    . When sold in supermarkets, they are usually    picked a little green    (otherwise they would not reach the consumer in good condition), which prevents the strawberry from producing all the sugars it is capable of.

So, the more sugar a strawberry produces, the more strawberry flavor it has. By growing them at home, you will be able to harvest them at the right time,    when they are already full of sugars and nutrients.

What is the best variety of strawberries to grow?

There are many types of strawberries, each with different bloom times: some bloom once a year, others stay in bloom all year round. Don’t be mistaken,    the care for all varieties is practically the same    , just choose the ones that catch your attention or those that excite you the most.

Wild strawberries are very small,    but they compensate with a very intense flavor, they are very productive and, if we do not have ideal light at home, they are also the best. They are practically impossible to find in supermarkets because they do not last long or last long,    you have to eat them the same day they are harvested.

Where to plant strawberries: light and climate.

Strawberries    are a good source of antioxidants,    including anthocyanins, which give them their characteristic red color.

Antioxidants help    protect cells from damage caused by free radicals    and may have health benefits, such as reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and certain types of cancer. All the reasons to always have them up to date and for free.

Strawberries love sun,    so choose a sunny location    with about seven hours of direct sunlight.  But, although it likes a lot of sun, it tolerates shade very well, even if its production is much less.

This fruit is resistant to a wide range of temperatures.  Its ideal temperature, where new stems, flowers and fruits develop, is 10-13ºC at night and 18-22ºC during the day.

To grow them at home you don’t need much, just reserve a few plastic bottles, the bigger the better. Then cut them    in half with a knife    and punch holes around the wrappers with a hot punch or screwdriver.

The part with the lid and the bottom part can be used. We can now tie a string around the sides    to hang them in the sun.

To grow strawberry plants,    they are placed in a plastic bag or plastic wrap.  Then you add some soil and a slice of banana with all the skin on, then the strawberry plants. The plastic closes to keep everything collected.

After 15 days    , once the plants have been removed from the bags, you will see that many small roots have started to grow. Each plant is placed    in the soil that was placed in the pots hanging in the sun, exactly in the center.

We water periodically and after two months you will see how the strawberry plants gain strength and revitalize themselves. In just three and a half months we will have plenty of strawberry plants ready to harvest, good organic ones and free ones.
