The money plant takes its common name from the ancient Chinese practice of Feng Shui, where it is believed to attract wealth and prosperity. The round, fleshy, coin-like leaves are believed to symbolize coins and therefore bring good luck and financial success to their owner. Although the scientific community does not support the idea that the plant can bring wealth, many owners prefer it as a symbol of prosperity and good luck.

Tips to make money grow faster and easier:

Ideal Light Conditions: The money plant thrives in indirect light. A location near a window with sheer curtains is ideal. However, it can also adapt to low light conditions. Direct sunlight can burn its leaves, so protect it in difficult times.
Proper watering: Water your money plant when the top inch of soil seems dry. Overwatering can cause root rot, a common problem with this plant. Make sure the pot has adequate drainage to avoid waterlogging.
Right soil mix: Use a well-draining potting soil, preferably with a little sand or perlite. This ensures that the roots have access to moisture and air.
Humidity Levels: Since it is a tropical plant, it has high humidity. You can mist the leaves regularly or place a humidifier nearby. Another trick is to place the pan on a tray full of pebbles and a little water; this increases the humidity as the water evaporates.
