INGREDIENTS
For a family cake of 6 persons (basic 26cm cake pan)
4 apples
170 gr of flour
135 gr of sugar (ideally blond)
2 packets of vanilla sugar
3 eggs
1 packet of baking powder
150 ml of liquid cream
75 g butter (+ a little for the mold)
2 tablespoons of rum
.
Preparation:
Wait for the butter to cream, then beat with the sugars (blond and vanilla) until the mixture whitens.
Add the eggs one by one, and whisk to a homogeneous texture.
Then add the liquid cream, rum and mix again.
Add the flour and yeast and mix well.
Wash and peel the apples, remove the core and cut them in half. Cut them into thin slices.
In a buttered cake tin:
Place about 1/3 of the dough.
Add half of the apple slices.
Cover with the remaining dough.
Arrange the remaining apple slices on top.
Bake the cake at 180°C for 30 to 35 minutes. Check the cake with the tip of a knife: the cake is ready when the tip of the knife comes out dry.
Serve the cake warm or at room temperature. If you like your cakes very sweet, you can sprinkle with a little powdered sugar when you take them out of the oven (and after unmoulding).
