Making jelly candies is really easy .
In this recipe you can find them with an orange flavor but you can very well use the fruit you want . If you don’t want to squeeze it, juice bought at the supermarket, for example apple juice, is also fine.
However, the suggestion is to use a juice that is not too thick.
These jellies are perfect to eat as they are or lend themselves very well to decorating other desserts.
Here is the recipe.
Orange jelly candies, the recipe
Ingredients
- Large oranges, 3 to obtain 300 ml of filtered juice;
- Sugar, 160 g;
- Gelatin powder, 40 g (if you used sheets you would need a lot).
Preparation
Prepare a 30×15 pan and line it with kitchen film.
Squeeze the oranges to obtain 300 ml of juice. Strain it and pour it into a saucepan.
Add the sugar and gelatin then mix well for 15 minutes, until the gelatin begins to thicken, mixing with the sugar.
It’s time to put the saucepan on the fire, keeping it low. The aim is to melt the compound created without boiling it .
Meanwhile keep mixing until you get a juice again .
At this point, take the lined pan and the strainer (preferably large). Strain the juice from the saucepan again directly into the pan.
Let it cool down to room temperature and once it has cooled put it in the fridge for at least 1 hour .
The jelly will have thickened again, compacting itself with the juice.
With the help of the film, remove from the pan, turn the contents upside down on a cutting board and remove the film permanently.
The consistency will be perfect, compact and soft at the right point !
At this point, cut rectangular strips (not too wide) which you will then divide into small squares or rectangles.
Pour the sugar into a plate and roll the cubes you have cut into it.
All that remains is to transfer them onto a plate or tray and offer your fragrant orange jellies !
