Baked chips: much better than fries but with only 100 calories
Ingredients:
- 5 grams of black pepper
- 5 grams of paprika powder
- 2 potatoes
- Fine cooking salt to taste.
You will also need:
- A few ice cubes
- To taste of water
- To taste of olive oil.
The aromas to flavor your potatoes can vary according to your personal tastes.
Clean the potatoes
Take the potatoes and rinse them under fresh running water to remove the soil residues on top of them. Dab the potatoes with a piece of absorbent kitchen paper and remove their peel.
With a knife, cut the potatoes into strips.
Rest time
Pour a little water into a basin, add the ice and dip the potatoes into it. Leave the potatoes to soak for about ten minutes. After the standing time, remove the water and carefully pat all the potatoes.
Cooking in the oven
Using a kitchen brush, lightly grease a baking dish with a little olive oil and place all the potatoes inside, avoiding overlapping them.
Season the potatoes with a pinch of black pepper, a pinch of fine cooking salt and a little paprika powder. Line the pan with a piece of aluminum foil and cook the potatoes in a preheated oven at a temperature of 200°C for five minutes.
After the first five minutes of cooking, remove the aluminum and continue cooking for another twenty minutes or until they are golden brown. During cooking, you will have to turn the fries upside down, in order to obtain uniform cooking.
Serve on the table
When your fries are cooked, remove them from the oven and transfer them onto a serving plate or bowl and serve them still steaming hot.
Enjoy your meal!
