Spinach gratin: ingredients and preparation
For this recipe, get:
- 1 onion
- spinach about 300 gr
- 4 eggs
- 4 tablespoons of cream cheese
- Sale, q.b.
- pepe, qb
- garlic powder to taste
- baking soda, 1 tsp
- grated cheese 150 gr
Preheat the oven to 200°.
Grease a square ceramic or glass pan (22×22 cm) and keep it close at hand.
Wash and dry the spinach, then cut it into small pieces; you can use both leaves and stem, simply remove the roots. Finely chop them with a knife and transfer them to a bowl.
Separately, peel and finely slice the onion, then drizzle some oil in a non-stick pan and fry it. It just needs to brown. Adjust the salt and stir until golden brown.
At this point, add the spinach and cook, turning often.
Break the eggs into a bowl, add the spreadable cheese and work everything with a fork to obtain a uniform and thick mixture. Add the aromas, uniform, then add the baking soda, mix well, finally add the grated cheese and let it absorb, as if to create a full-bodied batter.
Transfer the spinach to the bottom of the baking dish and cover with the egg mixture just finished, sprinkle more grated cheese on the surface and bake for 30 minutes.
Remember, however, that every appliance cooks differently, so watch your gratin cook and take it out of the oven when it is golden brown.
Let it settle for 5 minutes before serving.
