Cabbage rosti: the good dish, simple and fast!

Cabbage rosti: the good dish, simple and fast!

If you have problems getting your children to eat vegetables, the recipe that we propose below may be the right solution. It is essentially a fun cabbage omelette that little ones won’t be able to resist.

Let’s see how it prepares.

The ingredients

You need:

half a kilo of cabbage
10 grams of dry yeast
a potato
300 ml of warm milk
360 grams of flour
two carrots
300 ml of warm water
8 grams of salt
just enough parsley
twenty grams of sugar
two eggs

The preparation

We start by breaking the eggs in a bowl and then mixing them with a hand whisk. Then the milk, water, sugar, salt and dry yeast are poured. Then mix everything vigorously and then add the flour.

Mix again with a whisk until everything is incorporated well, after which the mixture is covered with a cloth and left to rest for about half an hour.

Meanwhile, on a pastry board, cut the cabbage into thin slices and then put it in a bowl, after which we pour hot water over it. The water must cover the vegetables. Once this operation is done, we set aside and let it rest for about fifteen minutes.

Continue by grating the carrots and potatoes, after having duly peeled them, then mince the parsley. Then we add the cabbage, not without having squeezed out the excess water.

At this point the dough is taken up again and after having slightly kneaded it, we add the vegetables we have just prepared. Mix gently to make everything homogeneous.

Cooking

Now let’s put a pan on the fire that we will have greased with vegetable oil and pour two ladles of our mixture into it. We spread the dough on the bottom so as to give it a nice round shape.

Now we pour a little vegetable oil on it and turn the omelette upside down to cook it evenly. After three or four minutes on each side we can easily pass our omelette over a flat plate, after which we continue like this until there is dough, of course.

Enjoy your meal!
