Yogurt cake with apples: delicious and with only 140 calories!

Are your taste buds clamoring for a delicious apple pie? Well, the only solution is to please them. This apple and yogurt cake that you find described below is just the right answer when such a craving arises.

It is a traditional dessert that contains an irresistible touch of delicacy, but which is also extremely simple to prepare. Protein-rich and light, everyone likes this apple pie and it’s also good for you, since it contains fibres, which, as we know, are essential for our well-being.

But let’s take a closer look at how it is prepared.

The ingredients

The ingredients we need to make this dessert are:

✅ 70 g of wheat flour
✅ 3 eggs
✅ 10 g of vanilla extract
✅ the juice of half a lemon
✅ 10 g of ground cinnamon
✅ 700 g of Greek yogurt
✅ 50 g of stevia sweetener
✅ 3 apples

The quantities are designed for a dessert to be divided into about eight slices of 140 calories each.

🍽 The preparation

Add the yoghurt to the bowl with the sifted flour and mix well with a spatula. When we have a creamy and lump-free mixture on our hands, we set aside for a few moments. After that we take the eggs and separate the yolks from the whites.

Now in the bowl where we poured the egg yolks, add the vanilla extract and the sweetener and then mix everything with a hand whisk.

Then we dedicate ourselves to the egg whites: we whip them until stiff and then we incorporate them into the mixture with the yolks, mixing slowly from the bottom up with the spatula, so that the mixture takes in the air and does not disassemble. When everything appears perfectly uniform, add the mixture with the flour.

Then, having completed this operation, we equip ourselves with a springform pan with a diameter of 18 centimeters and cover it with baking paper.

Now let’s take the apples, which we will have duly cored, peeled and sliced. After having mixed them with the cinnamon and sprinkled with the lemon juice, we place them on the dough in an orderly manner. Then we cover everything with the remaining dough and as a last touch we add the apple slices that were left over.

Now all that remains is to place the pan in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 60 minutes.

When our cake is ready, we dust it with sugar, but only after it has cooled down to room temperature.

Enjoy your meal!
