There is no doubt that married women experience more problems and stress than single women. With work, marriage and parenting, they have a huge load on their shoulders.
A survey confirms that husbands stress their wives much more than their children.
Who, dad or baby, is making mom’s blood pressure rise? Answer: Dad without a doubt! This is what this survey carried out by the Today site confirms, to which more than 7,000 American women agreed to respond.
Thus, 46% of respondents admit to feeling more stressed by their husband than by their children. We thought that life as a mother was difficult… Life as a wife is probably not easy either. And for good reason. Among the “complaints” of the women interviewed, the impression of having an extra child at home rather than an equal partner often comes up. Husbands therefore stress their wives, but why?
As is often the case, it is the problem of the distribution of tasks that poses a problem. Indeed, the wives believe that the day-to-day education of the children rests mainly on their shoulders. 3/4 of the mothers in a relationship in the study admit that they carry out most of the domestic tasks, particularly those related to the children. 1 in 5 women also confess that not receiving enough help from their husband is a major source of stress.
And if husbands stress out their wives, they are not the only ones. Many respondents share the same worry, that of not having enough time in a day to do everything. A real race against time seems to be taking place every day!
A husband acts like an extra child.
The truth is that men behave like children until they are around 43 years old. This is expressed not only in their frivolous attitude towards certain issues and behavior, but also in their interactions with children. “A 7-year-old is going to be a 7-year-old. But a 35-year-old behaving like a 7-year-old is more stressful, because they should know each other better,” said one of the respondents during this research.
How to remedy?
Husbands can do more!
If you think that you and your partner do not have the same distribution of tasks at home, talk to them about it!
Try making a list of all the little things that need to be done each week and see how you can make things more equitable.
Try starting a shared calendar that you both can easily access on your phones and computers, so no one has to forget important dates.
Take a step back!
It’s easy to blame your spouse for not taking on enough responsibility at home, but more often than not, he really wants to be the best father and husband there is!
The problem could be that you don’t fully trust him?! If not done correctly, it may seem easier to do things yourself than to ask your spouse to do them.
Resist temptation! Let him do it! Remember to recharge and take care of yourself.
