At the same time, as practice shows, the vast majority of motorists one way or another make the same mistakes when checking pressure.
The tire pressure of a car is influenced by factors such as wheel diameter, type of tire, road surface, driving style and even the make of the car. The easiest way to check pressure is to use a pressure gauge. Finding out what pressure your car’s tires should have is easy. To do this, just find a plate with the corresponding parameters. It contains data on what the pressure should be when using tires of a particular size, as well as when loading a car in a particular way. In modern cars, the plate is attached by the manufacturer either in one of the doorways or on the gas tank flap.
At the same time, it is important to remember and understand that tire pressure is a fickle thing that requires monitoring and adjustment. The pressure should be adjusted.
If the tire pressure is higher than normal, the wheel becomes too rigid, which causes more vibrations to penetrate into the passenger compartment, increases the risk of damage to the rubber, reduces the quality of grip on the road surface, the tread on the tires suffers more and wears unevenly, the braking distance increases, and stability decreases. . . If the tire pressure is lower than normal, then fuel consumption increases, tire wear accelerates, vehicle control becomes more difficult, and vehicle stability on the road decreases.
A deviation of 1-1.5 bar is considered unsafe. A pressure deviation of 2 bar increases the braking distance on a wet road by 10-12 meters, which is comparable to 2 times the width of a pedestrian crossing!

Worst of all, many motorists make two common mistakes when checking tire pressure. Firstly, motorists often forget that tire pressure changes depending on the load on the car and the size of the wheels. For example, they measure the tire pressure of a car with two passengers and luggage.
Having a partial load, drivers look at the normal pressure figures for an empty car, after which they realize the wrong decision to reduce the tire pressure! Secondly, many measure the pressure “hot”, immediately after the car has been in motion. It is correct to measure the pressure strictly “when it’s cold,” when the car has been sitting idle for at least 2-3 hours.
