Here’s How to Multiply Roses From a Stem

This method of multiplication has several advantages, particularly in relation to sowing. Thus the plant obtained is perfectly identical to the one from which it comes. Rather than a child as in the case of a seedling, we can speak of a clone with the same genetic heritage.

Below we show you how to get a beautiful collection of roses from the stem.

Step 1 :

The first thing to do is to identify the ideal place to put the roses. Dig a hole about 6 inches deep and fill it with sand. To choose the right place, follow these tips:

  1. Don’t put the roses too close together.
  2. Do not place roses too close to a wall or under a tree.
  3. Make sure the roses get air and sunlight, preferably in the morning.

2nd step

  • Obtain rose stems or cuttings, which will be used to propagate them and make our garden.
  • The important thing is that the stems are approximately 20 to 25 centimeters long.

Step 3

  • This step is as simple as it is important.
  • The stems must be cleaned, removing leaves and impurities, to promote its regeneration.

Step 4

  • Insert the rose stems into the sand, leaving a little space between them.
  • Push the stems firmly into the sand so that they are firmly attached.

Step 5

  • Cover the stems of the rose bushes with fertilized soil and tamp it down well with your feet to compact it well.
