Announcement
How to make scented rose water at home:
Making rose water is really quick and easy because you will only need:
- 1 cup of rose petals
- 2 cups of distilled water (about 500 ml)
First of all, we advise you to provide yourself with rose petals chosen from the gallica rose, the canina rose or the Damask rose, which are more effective in cosmetics and to always use flowers on which herbicides, pesticides and insecticides were not used
Next, wash these petals with cold water to remove all the dirt and immerse them in a pot of distilled water.
Then bring everything to a boil, always making sure to cover the pot when the mixture starts to boil so as not to let the steam escape, and leave the pot on the heat for a further 15 minutes keeping the flame low.
At this point, turn off the heat, let the mixture sit in the saucepan for another hour to intensify the scent, then strain everything and transfer it to a glass bottle. And there you have it: your rose water is ready to use!
As an alternative to the above method, however, you can also put all the rose petals directly into suitable cloths or bags and then immerse them in a container with cold demineralized water.
Finally, close the container and let the rose petals macerate overnight. The next day, filter the liquid and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
