The dark chocolate squares are desserts that have a soft inner heart and a slightly caramelized , almost crunchy outer crust .
Less than 15 minutes and a few ingredients are enough to prepare them: dark chocolate, eggs, sugar (white and brown), flour, butter and cocoa powder. The end result will be sweets that closely resemble not only the delicious American brownies but also the tenerina cake : the external crust, with a consistency similar to that of a meringue, encloses a dough which, once cooked, is pleasantly soft and moist to the bite.
To be accompanied by cappuccino, as a snack or for breakfast , perhaps with a sprinkling of icing sugar, they are one of the most delicious gluttony sins you can indulge in: if you’ve already eaten them, you can’t wait to make them at home.
If, on the other hand, you’ve never had this pleasure, we think this is just the right occasion to try our recipe.
How to prepare unleavened dark chocolate squares
Butter a baking tray and line it with sheets of parchment paper, so as to cover the edges as well1. Melt the butter and dark chocolate in a bain-marie2. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar with an electric whisk3.
Once they have become very foamy, add the melted chocolate little by little4and keep mixing with the whisk, incorporating more and more air into the dough5. Except combine flour and cocoa6.
Sift them into the chocolate dough7and mix everything with a spatula, until a smooth and homogeneous cream is obtained8. Pour everything into the previously buttered pan and level it with a spatula. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 25 minutes9. Before taking them out of the oven, do the appetizer test: if only two or three crumbs remain, it means that your brownies with a creamy inside are ready.
storage
The dark brownies can be kept in a cool, dry place, possibly under a glass bell, for about 2 days .
