Enjoy these natural and refreshing chewy candies as a healthy and energizing snack
Ingredients:
1 cup of water
2 green tea bags
1 tablespoon of grated
fresh ginger 1 tablespoon of honey
2 tablespoons of lemon
juice 2 tablespoons of agar-agar powder (or gelatin)
1 ⁄2 cup of sugar (optional, to sweeten)
Preparation:
Prepare the tea: bring the water to a boil and let the green tea bags soak for about 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and allow the tea to cool slightly.
Make the mixture: In a small saucepan, combine the grated ginger, honey, lemon juice, and green tea. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Add agar-agar: Sprinkle the agar-agar powder (or gelatin) while stirring constantly to make sure it dissolves evenly. If you prefer sweeter chews, add sugar at this stage. Continue cooking for another 3 to 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
Pour the chewy candies: Pour the mixture into silicone molds or a small plate lined with parchment paper. Let cool to room temperature and then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
Slice and serve: Once firm, remove the chewy candies from the ramekins and cut into bite-sized pieces. Enjoy these natural and refreshing chewy candies as a healthy and energizing snack!
